WHAT WE DO
The Y makes accessible the support and opportunities that empower people and communities. With a focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Y nurtures the potential of every youth & teen, improves the nation's health and well-being, and provides opportunities to give back and support neighbors.
I was injured by a roadside bomb in Iraq in 2006. In 2011 I moved my family to Dallas to be closer to medical services. We learned the Plano YMCA had many programs to support families like mine. With a scholarship funded by the Partners Annual Campaign, I used the Y to continue my rehab, and my son attends preschool. It's nice for him to have a place where he can learn and have fun while my wife and I go to physical therapy and doctors' appointments.Chris
