The Richardson Family YMCA offers Basketball in the winter and summer seasons. Our youth basketball league has no tryouts and everyone is welcome. Thanks to the Y’s sports philosophy and basketball rules, kids participate in every game and receive equal playing time, regardless of skill level. Youth Basketball at the Y develops fundamental basketball skills, teaches teamwork, promotes physical activity and values in a team environment.
2024 Summer participants should register based on the calendar grade of Fall 2023 to end of Summer 2024 school year.

Ball size:
Games and Practices: Richardson YMCA, FUMCR Church, Brighter Horizons Academy, Campbell Green Recreation Center or local schools. 7/8th grade division is a city-wide YMCA league. Teams will travel to local YMCAs.
Friend/Coach requests are accepted on registration forms but are not guaranteed. YMCA reserves the right to add any player(s) to a roster if necessary.
Coaches are volunteers that must register for a Criminal Background Check with Athlete Protection training. If you are interested in coaching please indicate so on your registration form and click on the link of Volunteer Coach on the left sidebar.

This is offered in the winter and summer season. 45 minute classes for PREK boys and girls ages 3 and 4. The program is designed to teach the basics of rules, techniques and safety practices of the sport.
