American Fundraising Foundation Announces Newest Recipients of Golden Pear Grants

MAITLAND, Fla. (February 8, 2022) – The American Fundraising Foundation (AmFund) has announced 40 Golden Pear Grant recipients as part of its expanded support for qualified nonprofit organizations throughout the nation. Over 2,100 organizations applied for these additional funding opportunity grants due to the adverse impact of the pandemic on their fundraising abilities. This is the third wave of grants awarded by AmFund bringing the total donation of unrestricted funds to over $210,000 ranging in amounts from $500 to $10,000.

The YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas was among the organizations selected for an unrestricted grant in the amount of $2,500. The grant was awarded to the Grand Prairie Family YMCA, which will use the funds to support pressing needs in the community the branch serves.

“We are pleased to present the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas with a Golden Pear Grant. Their application was very compelling, and the work they are doing in their community is exceptional,” said Deborah Marshall, Chief Operating Officer of the American Fundraising Foundation. “We are grateful for all they are doing to make a difference. The Golden Pear is part of our logo and symbolizes good health, prosperity, longevity and future happiness – all the things we hope for them and the many organizations that impact lives daily.”

“The Grand Prairie Family YMCA is grateful to have been selected as a recipient of the AmFund Golden Pear Award,” said Suzana Delgado-Gray, District Executive, YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas. “These funds will directly impact our community, serving families who need our support. Grand Prairie is a thriving community that has community members in need due to the pandemic, economy, health, and other issues. Unrestricted funds to a nonprofit organization like the Y allows us to serve the most immediate needs in our community.”

About the American Fundraising Foundation

Each year, the American Fundraising Foundation (AmFund) carefully chooses organizations to support through sponsorship of events, unrestricted grant distribution, virtual silent auctions, and other programs to raise much-needed unrestricted funds for the important mission of those select organizations.

AmFund was recognized in 2020 by Nonprofit PRO as Fundraiser of the Year. It is also recognized with the GuideStar Platinum Seal of Transparency and since 1999 has distributed more than $42 million for worthy causes. Its signature silent auctions featuring once-in-a-lifetime trips and experiences, that are good for three years with no blackout dates, are presented at organizations’ special events - drawing admiration, praise and excitement as the entire process elevates the event in the eyes of patrons, board members and the community. AmFund also recently introduced its VIP Auction platform, a virtual silent auction that is becoming the “go-to” fundraising option for nonprofits.

Leveraging more than two decades of fundraising experience, AmFund also provides expert training on a wide variety of topics and offers subject matter expertise through its Speaker’s Bureau for groups ranging in size from 12 to 500.
