BRENDA'S CORNER: ROGER AND SUSAN BAIER

Roger and Susan Baier are some of my dearest friends from the Moody Family YMCA. Retiring from his 9-5 job, Roger quickly became antsy from the new amount of free time and began working part-time at the Moody YMCA.  With his love for the Y, Roger quickly applied and began working the front-desk in the mornings during the week. He always told stories to his wife Susan about his crazy boss named Brenda. Wonder why he doesn’t have hair in the picture above? It’s because of me.

Roger worked at the YMCA from 2005-2013.  We became such close friends along with his wife. Susan and Roger would do anything for me. We had Christmas Parties for the staff at their house annually and Roger, Susan, and I still talk daily. My sisters and I have sung at Roger’s dad and brothers’ funerals.  We make sure we go to lunch at least once a month (they never let me pay). 

Because of all of this, Roger and Susan are just like family to me. No matter where you work, relationships matter. At the Y, they become second nature.  I love Roger and Susan and think of them as my closest friends.
