Support The Y Through The Dallas YMCA Foundation

Did you know that there is a YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas Foundation that is a separate 501C3 organization solely set up to support the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas and its branches through endowments?  Formed in 1995, the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas Foundation currently has around $31MM in total endowment funds.  This year alone, the Foundation will be distributing over $1.2MM in funding to the branches and programs of the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas, including almost $180,000 in college scholarships.  This makes the Foundation the largest annual financial supporter of the YMCA!

The funding growth of the foundation, now and in the future, is totally dependent on donations or planned gifts from YMCA supporters investing/donating to the endowment funds.  These donations are then added to the fund corpus, which is never touched, then only the interest growth from the fund is used for distributions.  Currently, the Foundation is basing the distributions on a 5%, 12-quarter rolling average, so that one bad year in the markets will not make a drastic change to the distributions.  If you would like to find out more about the foundation or how you could consider a planned gift to support the future of your YMCA, such as a bequest or one of the other many ways that donations can be made, please check out the foundation’s website at www.dallasylegacy.org
