Central Market Donates $10,000 to the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas

Donation will provide financial assistance for children in Dallas YMCA childcare programs.

DALLAS (February 7, 2022) – The YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas announced it has received a $10,000 donation from Central Market. The donation from Central Market will be used to support families who need financial assistance for their children to attend Dallas YMCA afterschool and day care programs. YMCA childcare is offered afterschool in school districts through the Metroplex and at select branches, and when school is out for select holidays and during the summer break.

More than looking after kids, YMCA childcare programs are focused on nurturing their development by providing a safe place to learn foundational skills, develop healthy, trusting relationships and build self-confidence. The YMCA focuses on the whole child and understands the importance of providing children in our care with a balance of academically rich activities as well as an enhanced focus on overall physical well-being.

“Central Market is proud to partner with the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas in providing affordable childcare options for parents, focused academic support, and physical development opportunities for youth,” said Mabrie Jackson, Senior Director of Public Affairs H-E-B/Central Market. “The YMCA has been an important community resource throughout the pandemic, and we are honored to contribute to their mission.”

“With so many demands on today’s families, parents need all the support they can get. We do not want finances to stand in the way of a family’s ability to receive quality childcare programming,” said Jodi Newman, Executive Director, Childcare, YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas. “While we try to make our childcare programs affordable for everyone, we understand that cost may be a barrier for some families. We’re grateful that Central Market’s donation will help ease the cost burden for families who need care for their children.”
