IRVING FAMILY YMCA WELCOMES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO THE COMMUNITY

Irving, Texas – On Tuesday, September 4th, 6PM - 8PM the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas and the Irving Family YMCA is hosting a Meet & Greet with new Executive Director Jesse Pazdernik at the Irving Arts Center located at 3333 North MacArthur Blvd, Irving, TX 75062. The YMCA staff is encouraging families, volunteers and the community to attend and welcome Jesse. RSVP ccarter@ymcadallas.org to attend.

Jesse brings 15 years of YMCA experience, where he recently served as Associate Executive Director for the Rancho Family YMCA of San Diego County before joining the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas as Executive Director of the Irving Family YMCA.

ABOUT JESSE

Originally born and raised in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, Jesse graduated from the University of Wisconsin and moved to San Diego where he began his Y Career at the Rancho Family YMCA of San Diego County.

As a kid, Jesse’s Y story included playing youth sports at the YMCA’s in Wisconsin, playing Flag Football and basketball.

Jesse started part-time at the Y while in college as a member services representative at the welcome desk. His experience taught him all the different aspects of the Y and he learned the impact it made in the community. He had a passion for mentoring kids and sports and soon started as a soccer coach. His commitment to the Y and its mission were obvious and he continued to grow within the Y.

Jesse is asked almost every day, “Why did you move to Texas from San Diego” His response: “I’ve always stepped outside of boundaries to try new things, learn and grow. I’m excited about the Irving community and what we can do to help the people that live here.”

What makes Jesse excited about coming to the Irving Y is the dozens of people that have said how much the YMCA means to their community. He’s committed to helping this community and making a difference where it the places it matters most.

Jesse moves to the DFW area with his family; wife, Sarah who he met while working at the Y, and 2 daughters that have brought joy to their lives, Zoe (almost 2) and Lucy (4-month old).

One of Jesse’s most rewarding experiences at the Y has been the Ride Across California, a 250 mile bicycle ride across the width of California that starts in Yuma Arizona and finishes in San Diego. Did we mention that it’s with 100 5th graders and their parents! With staff and volunteers, over 250 people participate in the Ride Across California each year, which started in 1990.  “It has been an extraordinary experience that transforms the lives of those who participate.” exclaimed Jesse who attributes some of his proudest moments as “Seeing kids get the feeling that they can do ANYTHING they want if they set goals, plan, train and prepare for it.”

Jesse is an amazing leader who has impacted the lives of thousands of parents, kids and adults. In fact, after starting at the Irving Family YMCA, he received a postcard from one of his former members letting him know how much his guidance, positive attitude and willingness to give impacted the life of her and her son!

The YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas is pleased Jesse is continuing his Y-journey with the Irving community.
