LIVESTRONG AT THE FRISCO YMCA

Cancer Survivorship Fitness Program Overview 2017

Goal:

Our goal is to help participants build muscle mass and muscle strength, increase flexibility and endurance and improve functional ability. Additional goals include reducing the severity of therapy side effects, preventing unwanted weight changes and improving energy levels and self esteem. A final goal of the program is to assist participants to develop their own physical fitness program so they can continue to practice a healthy lifestyle, beyond just their recovery.  The program also provides participants a supportive environment and camaraderie with fellow survivors, YMCA staff and members.

Format:

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a twelve-week fitness program designed for cancer survivors. This program is designed to provide physical and emotional support for cancer survivors during and after treatment protocols. Participants meet twice a week for twelve weeks.
