The Waxahachie Family YMCA is proud to have host the 5th annual Family Santa Run/Walk. This 5K and a 1-Mile Fun Run is a tradition the whole family can enjoy. In the spirit of the season, every runner will receive a 5 piece Santa Suit to wear during either of the two runs. All proceeds will benefit the YMCA Angels Program providing special needs programming for our community. All activities will take place at the square in downtown Waxahachie.

Santa Run FAQ’s
What do I receive with my race registration?
A Goodie Bag, your 5 piece Santa Suit, Access to the pre & post run activities, Milk and cookies at the finish line and lots of great memories.
What Santa Suit sizes are available?
Adult sizes from Small to XXXL. We encourage participants to order one size up from their regular size as the suits do run small. Children sizes are now available! Youth M – Youth XL
Where is Packet Pickup?
Packets can be picked up at Howard Jr. High in Waxahachie on:
Tuesday (Dec. 5th) or Thursday (Dec. 7th) from 4:30 – 8pm. Late pickup can be made on Friday at the YMCA from 10am – 4pm or on Race Day from 8:30 – 9:45am.
Can you pick up packets for a friend?
Every registrant needs to sign the event waiver, but if that’s been completed, packets for friends can be picked up with information verified.
How are the races timed?
The YMCA Santa Run will be timed via electronic timing chip. The Elf Run (1 Mile) is not a timed race. The timing chip does not need to be returned.
What comes with the Santa Suit?
Pants, jacket, belt, hat and beard…a full 5 piece suit!
Where does the race start?
Both races start at the Waxahachie Downtown Square on Franklin Street
Where does the race end?
Both runs will start and finish at the same spot on Franklin and Rogers St
Are dogs allowed in the race?
Absolutely! Bring your mild mannered dogs with you but make sure they are in full Christmas Spirit! A Contest for “Best Dressed Pet” will be announced at the completion of the race.
Are baby strollers allowed in the race?
Strollers are encouraged. Generally, strollers line up near the rear of the pack for safety. A “Best decorated stroller” trophy awaits you so fill them with glee!
How many water stations will be on the race course?
2 - A water station will be on the corner of Jefferson and Grand and another by Richards Park. At race finish, cookies, milk, bananas and water will be provided.
Will there be awards for the fastest runners?
Yes. Medals will be presented to the fastest runners by age grouping and will be available approximately 20 minutes after the first finisher crosses the finish line.
What happens if it’s raining on race day?
In true Santa spirit, through Rain, Snow or Wind, if Santa says GO…the run is on!
Where is the best place to park?
All Runner must utilize the Parking Garage on Jefferson Street to park. A short 1-minute walk from all the fun! Help us keep the streets clear to accommodate the runners and downtown shoppers. There is no charge to utilize the parking Garage.
