FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  When will my coach contact me?
A:  Your coach will call or email you after the Coach's Meeting. If you have not heard from anyone one week after the Coach's Meeting, you may call the sports department.

Q:  When and where will we be practicing?
A:  Volunteer coaches choose the location, day, and time of practices after the Coach's Meeting. Please respect their decision as they are volunteering their time for the team. (Gym space for basketball and volleyball is limited and sometimes a coach may not have a choice for practice location and time).

Q:  Where and when are games?
A:  Games are held at the branch or at local ISD schools and neighboring fields.  Games days vary depending on the season and sport and are posted on the sports page, click on the "Game Schedules Link" to up to date information. Schedules are posted before the start of each season.

Q:  Can my child be on the same team with a friend or specific coach?
A:  Yes! Please indicate on your registration form any requests you have.
All requests will be honored if: 1) Age requirements are met  2) Team size has not exceeded its limit  3) Child is not registered late.

Q:  What does my registration fee include?
A:  All fees include games, officiating fees, gym/field rental, custodial fees and an end-of-season tournaments.

Q:  How do I register?
A:  At the Welcome Center or by clicking on the "Registration Button" on the sports page.

Q:  What is the difference between the Member and Non-Member rate?
A:  Members are those who pay the low month-to-month Member rate and get significant discounts on all programs for the entire family.  Non-Members are those who desire to be in YMCA programs (ie sports, adventure guides, etc) but are not members at the Y.
