Phil Ferrara
Phil has been associated with the YMCA since 1999 and has worked for the Cross Timbers YMCA since 2004. He has his doctorate and BA in history. At one time, he practiced law in Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota and Pennsylvania. Phil is a Certified Master Fitness Specialist; Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Biomechanics of Resistance Trainer (all certifications through CIAR).Phil likes to train with both free weights and machines. His Fitness Golden Rule a/k/a the law of fitness efficiency: Never exercise more than necessary to achieve your fitness goals.
Sue Lampa
Sue discovered her love of athletics in her youth when she started training in track, gymnastics and later cheerleading. Years later, after working as a computer programmer and beginning a family, she joined the Cross Timbers YMCA and began strength training and participated in group exercise classes. Sue obtained her Group Fitness Instructor Certification from the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. Discovering a passion for helping others achieve goals for optimum health she completed her Personal Trainer Certification from the Cooper Institute in Dallas. Recently, she completed a lifelong goal by earning her bachelor’s degree in Health Studies with an emphasis on Nutrition and Healthy Aging. She hopes to continue her education by pursuing a Masters in Social Work. Applying her education and more than 15 years of health and fitness knowledge, Sue specializes in strength training programs for women and adults. She also has experience improving functional capacity with special populations such as; pre-post natal, people with arthritis, heart disease, knee/hip replacements and post rehab injuries. Sue prides herself on motivating clients to achieve their fitness goals as well as equipping them with the tools necessary to make lasting healthy lifestyle changes. Her philosophy is: “Train smart, not harder.”
Trisha Leonard
Trisha has been with the Cross Timbers YMCA since 2009. She not only personal trains but also teaches group fitness classes. She is a certified Personal Trainer through Cooper Institute; Indoor Cycling Instructor through Cooper Institute; Group Exercise Certification through YMCA; a licensed Certified Social Worker through University of North Dakota. She has trained and competed in 5ks, 10ks, ½ marathons and triathlons.Trisha likes one-on-one training but also enjoys group training.
Kylie Riggs
Kylie has been a YMCA employee since September of 2007. She is originally from Australia. She is married and has two children. Kylie has a Level 1 and 2 Sports Trainer certification– Australian Sports Medicine Association; Level 1 Sports Administration; Level 1 Sports Coach USA Rugby; AustSwim Swimming Instructor; Basic Massage Certification; Yoga/Pilates Instructor; Personal Trainer SCW; Personal Trainer NASM, YMCA Foundations of Strength and Conditioning; Competition Surf Life Saver (Bronze Medallion & Advanced Rescue Cert.)Kylie believes that a body can be trained not only through the use of equipment but also through the use of the body itself. Kylie approaches her trainings from a “corrective exercise” standpoint. Her goal is to educate her clients on how to train properly. Productive training can take many forms, some of which might include Yoga, Pilates, and cardio. Her main philosophy is “It’s all about efficiency!”
Elaine Spaulding
Elaine is a Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor certified by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA). In addition, she has earned The Cooper Institute Indoor Cycling Certificate. As a Personal Trainer, Elaine can help you get the fitness results you want. She will motivate you-she wants you to be successful! She will create customized plans for you based on your individual health and fitness goals. She will challenge you by providing fresh exercise ideas and introducing different methods of training. Through small group and one-on-one Personal Training sessions, Elaine has successfully helped clients improve their health, train for events, increase their strength and flexibility, and increase their endurance.
