Child Watch

At the YMCA, we believe all children deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. We use proactive and fun curriculum such as themed art projects, storytelling, and outside play. Child Watch is a safe, fun environment for kids ages six weeks to ten years old. Our staff is CPR/First Aid certified, receive a background check, and regular training to ensure the safety of your children.

Child Watch is a benefit of family memberships and parents must stay on premises while the child is in Child Watch for up to 1.5 hours.

IMPORTANT:  Reservations are not required for your child.

H.Y.P.E. (Healthy Youth Positively Engaged) is an extension of the Child Watch program that helps keep our elementary-aged members engaged and moving!

H.Y.P.E. is available for the first 16 youth (ages of 5-10) who arrive at Child Watch during the summer. During the school-year we will offer H.Y.P.E for RISD holiday breaks and as needed on Saturdays.

Children may stay for up to 1.5 hours, in accordance with our regular Child Watch hours.

Participants will play various age-appropriate games and activities. H.Y.P.E. takes place in the upstairs multi-purpose studio, gym, playground or outdoors.

Youth ages 5 -10 are welcome in the Child Watch room when H.Y.P.E. is not available.

Important Note: We make every effort to offer this option during school breaks. Occasionally, a staff shortage may change our plans. We will update the front desk when H.Y.P.E. is not available, youth ages 5-10 are welcome in the Childwatch room. Thank you for your understanding.
