AND THE WINNER IS...
With the help of mascots, Tommy and Tammy, YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas unveiled the winning artwork for the Turkey Trot T-Shirt 2021 on Saturday.
Dallas-born Kevin Underwood submitted the winning design. The design, titled “Speedy,” features a turkey sprinting across the Dallas skyline.
Underwood’s artwork was selected from more than 30 submissions in the community-wide competition and will be featured on shirts by more than 20,000 entrants for this year’s event. Submissions were limited to three finalists and more than 2,800 people voted on the winning design.
“The legacy of the Turkey Trot is community based, so it made sense to compete with the public on our signature t-shirt design,” said Curt Hazelbaker, President and CEO of YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas. “The Turkey Trot is a family tradition and the way Dallas begins Thanksgiving. We are excited to host this year’s event, bring people together and showcase the work of this artist in a unique way."
The 54th annual Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot will take place on November 25th. Registration is open and participants can register online for the personal or virtual events.

Kevin is an aspiring graphic designer and has recently started a new business in graphic design called Kreative Juice Graphics; where he does such work as the T-Shirt design for the 2021 Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot contest.
