Winter League Basketball

Kindergarten - 8th Grade

Our youth basketball league has no tryouts and everyone is welcome. Thanks to the Y’s sports philosophy and basketball rules, kids participate in every game and receive equal playing time, regardless of skill level. Youth Basketball at the Y develops fundamental basketball skills, teaches teamwork, promotes physical activity and values in a team environment.

Separate boys and girls divisions. Girls may play in a boy's league if requested.

Registration Dates: September 1st. 

Season: TBD

Games: Saturdays

Games and Practice Locations: The Richardson YMCA, First United Methodist Church, First Baptist Church, Heights Rec Center, Mark Twain, Heights and ACM Elementary.  

Cost: Fee includes team jersey and team gym practice for 1-1.5 hours per week.

 $70 for Y members   l   $90 non-members

Individual and team sign-ups welcome! 


 

 


Small Fry Basketball

Ages 3-4

45 minute classes for boys and girls ages 3 & 4. The program is designed to teach the basics of rules, techniques and safety practices of the sport. Your child will develop self-confidence and social skills through constant encouragement from coaches, parents, and other children.

Small Fry is a program that requires parental involvement by coaching, guiding and assisting their children in developing the knowledge and skills necessary to enhance their progress. Sport officials are always on hand to help. Parents will not receive a call from a "coach" before the 1st session. Your player will meet the coach at the 1st session. Each player will receive a small fry t-shirt, basketball and participation trophy!

Dates: January 13th, 20th, 27th and February 3rd 2018
Time: 6:00pm-6:45pm. 
Location: Richardson YMCA gym.
