FOUR YMCA OF METROPLITAN DALLAS BRANCH LOCATIONS TO HOST FREE, SAFE FAMILY-FRIENDLY TRICK-OR-TREAT EVENTS

TOT

With the continued COVID-19 pandemic, many parents don’t feel comfortable this year allowing their children to trick-or-treat door-to-door. The YMCA is offering free community events at select branches to provide parents a safe option to let their kids participate in Halloween fun. The events will take place between Thursday, October 29 and Saturday, October 31 at branches including the Park South YMCA, Moorland Family YMCA at Oak Cliff, Semones Family YMCA (North Dallas) and Waxahachie YMCA.

Trunk or Treat at the Semones Family YMCA on Thursday, October 29 from 5:30pm-7:00pm.

Decorated cars will join us in the parking lot across the street for a night of safe, outdoor trick or treating fun! Bring a guest to share in this free, family-friendly community event. A reminder that masks will be required for attendance. The more cars, the better - and there will be a contest for most creative trunk theme! More information about the Semones event can be found here or on the Semones Family YMCA Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/SemonesYMCA.

Drive-Thru Trunk or Treat at the Moorland Family YMCA at Oak Cliff on Friday, October 30 from 6:00pm-8:00pm.

Join us for a Drive-Thru Trunk or Treat event on October 30th, from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Moorland Family YMCA at Oak Cliff! Families are invited to come through a row of decorated cars and receive some special giveaways. For your safety, you must stay in your vehicles. Candy will be distributed by masked/gloved staff and volunteers. No registration required. Trick or Treat After Hours at the Waxahachie YMCA on Friday, October 30 from 6:00pm-8:00pm.

The Waxahachie YMCA will be hosting its very first Trick-or-Treat After Hours on Friday, October 30th, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Get your costumes and candy bags ready for a night of thrills, sweet treats, and prizes. Our goal is to provide a festive and safe environment for families in our community. Sunny South Harvest Festival at the Park South YMCA on Saturday, October 31 from 2:00pm-5:00pm.

Trunk of Treats, Horse Rides and a Picture Booth Station! Join us at the Park South YMCA for an afternoon of family-friendly activities. People will be asked to be 6-feet socially distanced from each other if standing in lines. Volunteers will be monitoring areas to make sure that social distance is enforced. Masks are required. Adults at trunks will hand out candy only so that the children will not be getting the candy themselves. For a good-deed to do with your family this week, Carter BloodCare will have a mobile unit set up at the Richardson YMCA on Thursday, October 29 from 3:00pm – 8:00 pm. Sign up here for a time slot to give blood to those who have been impacted by COVID-19.
