Frisco YMCA Executive Times - January

Bill Frisco Executive Times

Dear Frisco Family YMCA Members and Friends,

Happy New Year!

Last year was a great year for the Frisco Family YMCA and we want to say thank you for your continued support and patronage, for without it, we could not have accomplished many of the goals we had set out to do during 2019. More than 10,000 people benefited from our YMCA programs and services, 6000 of them YOUTH!

As we begin a new exciting year here at the Frisco YMCA, I would like to give you, our members the opportunity to get more involved as co-producers and co-owners of your YMCA. This ideas of advancing or “promoting” members to positions of leadership and making decisions is not new, as a matter of fact it has been central to the very life and being of the YMCA since its beginning in 1844.

The opportunity for YMCA members to become involved, to play a part in the decision making process, and to take a leadership role is what sets us apart from other organizations. Our programs, activities and strategies are tools to accomplish the mission and objectives of the YMCA.

Our most effective Y programs take every opportunity to involve members and volunteers from the very beginning. Volunteers are involved in determining the need, planning, delivery, and financing of our programs.

Here at the Frisco Family Y we have many opportunities for you to become involved and help make important decisions that will help mold the future for this YMCA. At the very core of our decision making process is our Board of Managers that meet monthly to make policy and program decisions; volunteer committees that deal with issues impacting program, finance, membership, funding and facility.

If you are interested in learning more about how you can get more involved by volunteering at the Y, please feel free to contact me at 214-297-9622 or email me at bmarkell@ymcadallas.org.

Wishing you the best for 2020!

Bill Markell Exec. Director, VP of Operations/Frisco Family Y, YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas
