Sneak Peak of New Facility
The Park Cities YMCA hosted a Sneak Peek Event for the Capital Campaign on May 21st at the Dallas Country Club. The event was well attended with Park Cities Y volunteers, board members, donors and staff. The evening celebrated the hard work and perseverance of the volunteers over the last 18 months and was a look ahead to the Campaign and the new Park Cities YMCA.
The Park Cities YMCA “Pathways Campaign” will be a $28 million Capital campaign to provide a facility which will serve the community for the next generation. A strategy and timeline has been established. The timing for the new facility will be driven by fundraising benchmarks. We will break ground on the new facility once we have secured 80% of campaign pledges.
The vision and plan for the new facility was presented by Duncan Fulton along with a video rendering of what the outside grounds and building will look like when completed. The building will be a state of the art facility where we will be able to serve the needs of Park Cities for years to come.
Gail Madden spoke about the leadership of the campaign. Gail, a four generation YMCA family, spoke how the “Pathway Campaign” will celebrate the YMCA families and volunteers who paved the way for the Park Cities YMCA, she stated “Now it is time for the next generation to light the path for the future.”
With this new facility, the RISE School will join the YMCA family. Supporters from both organizations will come together to maximize community resources and transform the impact we can have for children of all abilities. John Poston and Wendy Poston will provide extraordinary leadership for this campaign.
The evening was closed with a presentation by Capital Campaign Co-Chair, Will Beecherl. As part of the campaign, the Beecherl family will honor the legacy leaders of the YMCA and community like, their father, Louis A. Beecherl Jr. through a Legacy of Leaders wall, which will be created in the new YMCA.
