AGES 5 to 21

Introduce your child to one of the most complete sports around. Competitive swimming develops aerobic endurance and is one of the most beneficial forms of cardiovascular exercise. This sport provides flexibility and muscle toning, in addition to developing self-confidence, self-discipline, and goal setting. Open for ages 5 to 21 years of age.

We are also excited to announce the addition of a swim team prep and conditioning class. 

Swim Team Prep and Swim Conditioning classes help with the adjustment from swim lessons to swim team. Classes will focus on improving technique, increasing endurance, and teaching swim team basics such as starts, turns, and finishes, in addition, to swim team terminology.

All year around swim team.  During the year, the team will be swimming at T Boone Pickens YMCA from 4:30pm-6:30pm M-Th, until new pool is built at Park South Family YMCA.  In the summer, the team moves to outdoor pool in White Rock Family YMCA practices are 7:00am-9:00am M-F.



Swimmers must be able to swim 15 feet freestyle with face in and kick on back 15 feet for the Black group (5 yrs and up) and 50 yards for the Red group (7-21 yrs old).

Southeast Sharks Swim Team Level Description


Swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards freestyle with side breathing and 25 yards backstroke.

Usually practice length between 45 minutes to an hour


Swimmers must be able to swim 50 yards freestyle and backstroke without stopping. Must have working knowledge of  breaststroke and butterfly, dive off starting block and be able to circle swim.

Usually practice length between 75 minutes to 90 minutes
