Got game? Hit the courts with the ones who invented the game – the Y!

The White Rock YMCA youth volleyball league is offered in the fall and spring seasons and is played with Lake Highlands YMCA.  It has no tryouts and everyone is welcome. It   Thanks to the Y’s sports philosophy and volleyball rules, kids participate in every game and receive equal playing time, regardless of skill level. Youth volleyball at the Y develops fundamental volleyball skills, teaches teamwork, and promotes physical activity in a team environment. Volleyball players will learn to spike, block, and assist and competitively learn to serve, pass, set, attack, block, and dig while having a positive experience and having fun. 

Participants should register based on the calendar grade of Fall 2022 to the end of the Summer 2023 school year.

Required: All participants must wear knee pads.

Game locations are at White Rock/Lake Highlands YMCA or other YMCA branches (depending on the number of teams per division)

Practice locations are at White Rock/Lake Highlands YMCA.

Friend/Coach requests are accepted on registration forms but are not guaranteed.  YMCA reserves the right to add  any player(s) to a roster if necessary.  

Coaches: Are volunteers that must register for a Criminal Background Check with Athlete Protection training. If you are interested in coaching please indicate so on your registration form and click on the link of Volunteer Coach on the left sidebar.

Teams are co-ed.

Grades are split between 3rd/4th Grade and 5th/6th Grade

Length of Game Times

45 minutes to an hour

Games to 25, 25, and 15; best of 3

Pre-game Practices

Prior to games, team warm-up activities will be conducted off the court where space may be permitted or on the court prior to game time when time is permitted

Member/Nonmember Rate

If you are a member of the White Rock YMCA, you get a discounted rate for participating in youth sports programs offered by the branch. However, to qualify for the membership rate, you must maintain your family membership through half of the season (April 15th for the spring season). If you cancel your membership before halfway through the season, you are required to pay the difference between the member and nonmember rate.

Refund Policies

The refund amount given back will be determined by the date the refund is requested

Limited exceptions for emergencies only.
Refunds/makeups/transfers are NOT available for individually missed games/practices.

7 days or less to Season start date - after First Game = No refund

8-14 days to Season start date = 50% refund minus $10 processing fee and $25 uniform fee

15-21 days to Season start date = 75% refund minus $10 processing fee and $25 uniform fee

22-30+ days to Season start date = 100% refund minus $10 processing fee 

*All ONLINE registrations are held to this policy

Winter Volleyball Camps

       Late Registration Period starts January, with an additional $20 late fee 

       Days:  Tuesday - Thursday

       Times: 4:30 - 6:30 PM for 2nd - 5th Grade, 6:30 - 8:30 PM for 6th - 10th Grade

Location of Camps: White Rock YMCA

Required Equipment: Knee Pads

Cost: $70 YMCA Members  / $100 Activity Members

Refunds: Issued only if you come to the front desk at White Rock YMCA to fill out the required Refund form. No refunds are given after the first day of camp.
